What people I've worked with say.

Neil sits comfortably across both design and product, and delivers strongly in both.

He has worked in our design team primarily in a senior service design capacity, but his contribution has consistently stretched into product solutions definition and discovery, working in a highly collaborative environment alongside several Product Managers.

He brings a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving — quick to explore a range of solutions and comfortable using a variety of AI tools to rapidly build out concepts for stakeholder review and validation. This flexibility, combined with a strong grasp of how to articulate complex ideas, has been genuinely valuable across our product domains. He has a good instinct for knowing when to go broad and when to push for definition, which keeps projects moving in the right direction.

Beyond his tangible design and product skills, Neil is a strong communicator who knows how to align stakeholders and bring people with him. Whether facilitating workshops or steering conversations around prioritisation and scope, he operates with a clarity and confidence that earns trust across product, design, and the wider business.

Multi-faceted and collaborative, with a good balance of creative thinking and commercial awareness. I'd recommend Neil without hesitation.

Neil brings a real depth of leadership skills. This shines through in how he manages and motivates the people around him, and in his ability to set a strategic vision and align people towards its delivery.

He communicates with crisp clarity, insight and gravitas, whilst remaining personable and approachable for stakeholders and team members alike.

Neil is simply brilliant — as capable of operating a company as he is a department. He's determined, hard working, and great fun to boot.

Perhaps Neil's greatest strength is his ability to detangle the complex, and craft a clear path forward in every instance.

I worked with Neil to revamp the Borough Kitchen website. Neil is one of those rare individuals who will add value to almost any e-commerce, product or design discussion.

From the very first client pitch, Neil demonstrated that he was an extremely considered and skilled professional. He asked all the right questions and presented clear hypotheses for making improvements, including clarity on how to measure success. He was also extremely collaborative, helping to achieve buy-in from all key stakeholders.

Neil and I worked together at Pitney Bowes on a cross-functional team that built and launched a self-installable SaaS mail creation product. I was very impressed with Neil's attention to detail and entrepreneurial spirit.

Neil was diligent in getting quick market feedback to help us continue to enhance the product before launch. He is collaborative, understands the voice of the customer, and is an asset to any team.

Neil Sampson, Product Leader

About.

I help teams make high-stakes product decisions under uncertainty and turn them into shipped outcomes.

Over 15 years across ecommerce, SaaS, and service transformation, I've worked across retail, hospitality, finance, and education, usually in environments where clarity is limited and trade-offs are unavoidable. My focus has stayed consistent: what gets built, why it matters, and how teams align to decide with confidence.

I moved from design into product to own decisions, not just outputs. That shift shaped how I work: bringing structure to ambiguity across discovery, definition, and delivery, and focusing on the few decisions that determine whether a product succeeds.

Alongside this, I built and shipped a self-funded consumer brand, Polesdon, which gave me direct experience of constraint, operations, and end-to-end accountability where every decision has real consequence.

More recently, I've been using AI-native workflows and rapid prototyping tools to shorten the distance between thinking and something tangible, so teams can respond to evidence, not discussion.

I'm looking for a senior product role in a team building ambitious products.

Where I work best

  • Founder-led businesses
  • Design-led product organisations
  • Consumer and marketplace products
  • Travel, hospitality, health, and wellbeing
  • Operationally complex services

If that sounds like the conversation you're trying to have, let's talk.
